It's Official!!!

Thursday night was our first official night in the MoHo.
Ice cream floats and games till 2am.

Playing Phase 10

Tia worrying that she was gonna get her butt kicked in Phase 10.
Let me put your minds at ease, she didn't get her butt kicked... I did. It was something like 80 to 275.
Depressing, I know.

Rummikub
Skip-Bo

If one was eavesdropping outside of the MoHo Thursday night they would have heard the saying "You're fowlin' me up!" a time or two.
You see, we got to talking about our Grandpa Fowers. He loved to play games, especially Rummikub and Skip-Bo. We'd play for HOURS when Grandma and Grandpa would drive their trailer down to Arizona to visit us. Whenever your move messed up Grandpa's next move he'd say "You're fowlin' me up!"
He got so frustrated if you left the table and didn't get back before your next turn or if you weren't paying attention. Tia and I laughed about the things he would have said if we'd had cell phones back then... because we would've undoubtedly been texting or playing on Facebook, like we were at the time, and he would have had a fit!!

We decided to call it a night around 2am. I slept on the couch and Tia slept on the table that converts to a bed since we hadn't bought the padding for the bunk yet.
Lets just say we bought padding Friday morning because our hips hurt.... yeah, our hips hurt. Like old folks. So now we have memory foam in the bunk and yes, both of us sleep up there. It's pretty spacious, alright?
Apparently we picked one of the colder nights in a while to move into the  MoHo and everyone kept telling us we would freeeeeze. But have no fear, Space Heater is here!!!

The space heater kept us nice and toasty while we played games and we even turned it off before retiring to our uncomfy beds and still stayed warm.

In retrospect, an ice cream float probably wasn't our best choice... we should have gone with something like hot cocoa, but who turns down an ice cream float? I mean really.

All in all it was a perfect first night in the MoHo and I couldn't have imagined us spending it any other way.

Next stop: major tune up!!!

So my friends, the adventure continues.
I ripped up the carpet in MoHo last week because it was old and filthy and then we cleaned the crap out of the interior. Now all we need is foam padding for the bunk, flooring of some sort, and fix the leaky roof.
OH, and did I mention a tune up?!
Yeah, that's MoHo broken down on the side of the road, aaaannnnddd...
....this is MoHo about to be towed by my step dad's truck.
So here is the story. I was out shopping for fabric to sew new drapes for MoHo when I get a call from Tia. She said that she was following Wayne as he was driving MoHo to our friend's house when MoHo broke down at a stoplight and wouldn't start back up. So needless to say, they were blocking a lane of traffic through FIVE green lights... at which point they decided it may be prudent to coast her BACKWARDS to get her onto the shoulder and out of everyone's way. Good choice seeing as three cops passed their way. We wouldn't want to be in trouble with the law man now would we??
Let me back up a little bit: When we bought MoHo the guy selling her said that the gas gauge was broken but that there should be about $70 in the tank. So we were thinking maybe he lied (little turd) so Tia called our step dad to bring them some gas.
That seemed to do the trick... until they got to the next stoplight. Causing a traffic jam, yet again. They got her started back up again and pulled off into a parking lot.
By this time I was over in the same area so I met up with them. I roll down my window and Wayne immediately says "You're not getting out of this!!" Poor guy was stressin out everytime MoHo caused a traffic jam. Understandable. Bless his heart.
So, since MoHo is still running at this point we decide to caravan on down the road. MoHo, Kippo, Rhonda, and Diesel. (You obviously already know who MoHo is so we'll skip that one. Kippo is Tia's car. Rhonda is my Honda. Creative, I know. And Diesel is our step dad's truck, which I've taken the liberty of naming.)
So we're back on the road and surprise surprise, MoHo only makes it to the next stoplight. I take a right at the light and am followed by my step dad. He turns around and heads the wrong way on the shoulder of the road to get right up next to MoHo. Meanwhile their is a CLUSTER forming behind MoHo on a really busy road, around rush hour no less. So step dad jumps out of Diesel and hooks up a towing chain and pulls MoHo onto the side road. We decide the best option is to just have step dad tow MoHo the whole way. Slow and steady but we finally made it.
So MoHo is nice and cozy parked on the side of a friend's house. For now.
Next stop: major tune up!!!

P.S. big thanks to Wayner, step dad, and the friends letting MoHo visit their yard. We owe you. Cuppycakes maybe?? :)
